Arizona
History
There's no place
on earth quite like the Grand Canyon State…Arizona. It's not just our
landscapes, which take in tall mountain ranges, swift rivers,
grasslands, sand dunes, cactus floral and fauna. With more than 330 days
of sunshine a year, Arizona is the perfect playground to indulge in your
favorite adventure. It's not just our storied past, which reaches back
thousands of years. It's not just our people, a vibrant blend of
cultures (Native American, Mexican and Western) and traditions. It's all
these things, and the way they come together, that make a visit to
Arizona a truly unforgettable experience.

Airport Travel Tips:
Depending on the time of year, the general rule of thumb is to be at
the airport at least 1.5 hours before your scheduled departure. If
you are flying on an International flight, you should arrive at the
airport at least 2.0 hours before your scheduled departure. Here are
some other helpful tips from the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport:
- Please use the curbside
for active loading and unloading only. Airport safety regulations
prohibit vehicles waiting at the curb. Give arriving passengers time
to exit the aircraft, walk to baggage claim and pick up their bags
before expecting them at the curb.
- Film should be packed in
carry-on baggage only as new security equipment may harm film in
checked baggage.
- Leave gifts unwrapped
until you reach your destination.
- Beverages in glass, metal
or ceramic containers must be sealed and go through the x-ray unit.
- Check directly with your airline for
flight schedules and recommended arrival times.
- Remember only ticketed passengers
will be allowed past the security checkpoints. If you are
accompanying children or persons with disabilities please contact
your airline. Bring a printout of your flight with
confirmation numbers if using an electronic ticket.
- If you have a Medical condition
that requires you to use or carry a needle or syringe in your carry
on baggage you must also have the medication with its pharmaceutical
label. If you have a medical implant that is likely to set off the
metal detector, it is helpful to bring evidence verifying your
medical condition.
- Only one carry-on bag
plus a personal item (such as a purse or briefcase) is allowed. Try
to limit the amount of metal in your clothes and in your pockets.
- Laptops
and other electronic equipment must be removed from their carrying
cases before going through the x-ray machine.
- Control all bags. Never
leave bags unattended or carry anything onboard an aircraft for a
stranger. Report any unattended packages or baggage
to airport personnel.
- Random searches of
passengers and baggage are in effect at the checkpoints and boarding
gates. Baggage may be tested for traces of explosives.
- Place any knives or sharp objects
in your checked baggage only. These items will not be allowed passed
the checkpoint. Passengers may mail small items home from the
information counter if necessary.
- Carry a government-issued photo ID.
- If you have a question or
need directions, the airport staff, the Navigator Volunteers wearing
purple, or representatives at the information booths are always
ready to help.
